Welcome to the Video Tutorial! In this Tutorial, you will learn how to record your own Gens+ Videos, and submit them into our forums. It's easy, and it's quick, as you will learn.
First of all, you need to download Gens+ from our Downloads Section. This can be found by
CLICKING HERE. Then open the zip and extract it.
After you have extracted it, you'll need to find an icon like this in your computer (
Attention: I advise people to create a desktop shortcut for Gens+, as it will be easier for you to access it):
After that, a Window like this one should open up.
Before you start recording, you must have a ROM on! So, press File, then press "Open ROM...", and choose your ROM.
After this, go to File again, and choose "Record Input Movie...". Now you should choose the directory in where to save your recording and the name you want to give it. I recommend saving in the folder "Dump", which is the one that you're automatically directed to when you press the "Record Input Movie..." button. It's easier for you to keep your videos. Check out the following image, which shows where the button is.
Now play through the game, and when you're done, just do the following:
Now you'll want to post it up on a Challenge forum! Just choose Add Reply in the thread you want to submit your entry in, then you'll have the page where you can input your message. Just scroll down the screen until you find this:
Now, press that button, and you'll be shown this:
As you can see marked in
red, there's the .giz extension that allows you to upload your videos here in the Sonic Cage Dome forums. But that's just an extra. Now press "Browse...", which is marked in
green, select the video you just recorded, and press Upload. After the upload is done, just close the window, input your message, and post it.
And voila! You just submitted your video into our forums!
