This tournament will be kind of like the Sonic Olympics we (are supposed to) hold each summer, but with this competition, only two sites will be involved: The Sonic Center and Sonic Cage Dome. Now, other people are welcome to participate, but their placings will be disregarded in the final tally of points for each site.
Now, on to the events!

Online Events & Rule List:

Sonic 2 with a surprise!

Date & Time: Friday, March 19th at 2:00 PM CST (check to see what time this is for you!)

(Note: This may be changed to later due to people being in school. If I get enough requests, I may move it to 4 PM CST)

This event will use the 2 Player Vs. mode of Sonic 2 using Kaillera in a tournament bracket format. Due to the whole “surprise” part, more information on this will need to hold off until the week of the competition.
Tournament structure will be double elimination bracket. Games will be played on Kaillera via the Sonic Cage Dome server (69.90.34.38:27888). All players will play their opponent (as decided by the bracket) on all of the stages. In the Finals matches of each Bracket (Winner’s and Loser’s Finals), the 4 stages are played in a best 2 out of 3 set. In Grand Finals (winners of Loser’s Finals and Winner’s Finals play each other) the player coming from Loser’s Bracket needs to win two sets, while the other only needs to win one.

In the event of a tie (wtf if this happens…), the set will be replayed.

Rules:

• If you are 15 minutes late to your match, you will be disqualified.
• Autofire is not allowed.
• Causing a desynchronization purposefully is not allowed. We’ll be able to tell.
• In the case of a desynch, the game will pick up where it left off by restarting on the stage the desynch occurred with the other results carrying over.
• Absolutely no johns.

Players from the same site will not have to play each other first round, unless one site has more players than the other. After that, it is inevitable that players from the same site will have to play each other.

There will be awards awarded to all who participate and 1st through 3rd will receive rings and special awards. 1st gets 100 rings, 2nd gets 50 rings, and 3rd gets 25 rings. Participants will get 5 rings.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles

Date & Time: Saturday, March 20th at 2:00 PM CST (check to see what time this is for you!)

The most highly praised Sonic game to date. This event will use the Competition mode of S3&K, using Kaillera in a tournament bracket format. Tournament structure will be double elimination bracket. Games will be played on Kaillera via the Sonic Cage Dome server (69.90.34.38:27888). In the Finals matches of each Bracket (Winner’s and Loser’s Finals), 3 sets of 3/5 will be played (so, you’ll do Grand Prix mode 3 times) and the best 2/3 will win. In Grand Finals (winners of Loser’s Finals and Winner’s Finals play each other) the player coming from Loser’s Bracket needs to win two sets (two sets of best 2/3), while the other only needs to win one.

Mega Bomberman:

Date & Time: Saturday, March 20th, after the Sonic 3 & Knuckles tournament ends. If there isn’t time, then it will be held on Sunday, March 21st at 2:00 PM CST.

Players will be put into groups of 4 (preferably 2 from TSC and 2 from SCD) and they will play a battle royale. The winner will move on, while the other person who was the last one standing will go into the loser’s bracket.
This event’s placings will not count toward the total, but there will be awards awarded to all who participate and 1st through 3rd will receive rings and special awards. 1st gets 100 rings, 2nd gets 50 rings, and 3rd gets 25 rings. Participants will get 5 rings.
